Description

1 x Escarpment Martinborough Pinot Noir 2018

Perfume, elegant fruit flavours, and soft ripe tannins are all hallmarks of this exceptional Pinot Noir. A typical Martinborough summer has created the distinctive Escarpment style showing complexity, attractive texture and the perfect mix of black, red and green fruit flavours for which Pinot Noir is celebrated.

Inspired by the classic wines of Burgundy, this Pinot Noir is a tribute to Martinborough’s unique terroir. It will cellar gracefully for up to 10 years.

1 x Quartz Reef Single Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir 2020

Aromas of deep black doris plum, and dark cherry. Rich on the palate with blackcurrant, plum, forest floor notes and subtle spice. An elegant wine with classy tannins and a long vibrant finish.

1 x Rapaura Springs Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir 2019

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS & 5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2020

"It's gorgeously ripe and perfumed on the nose showing dark cherry, toasted nut, clove and dark mushroom characters, followed by a beautifully supple palate that's succulent and smooth. The wine offers terrific fruit purity with elegant complexity, finishing long and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2020

Aromatic and rich with dark cherry and plum, complemented with subtle savoury characters. The palate is full of juicy berry fruit flavours with velvet tannins.

1 x Craggy Range Te Muna Vineyard Martinborough Pinot Noir 2018

Bright cherry with crimson hue. Lifted morello cherry, with complex notes of fresh truffle and wet earth. The palate provides the perfect amount of strucuture to carry the volume of varietal fruit that presents. The finish is endless.

Food Pairing: Pan seared and roasted duck leg, fresh pasta and satueed mushroom risotto

Alc - 12.76%

1 x Greenhough Stone's Throw Nelson Pinot Noir 2019

Awarded 93/100 points & 4 stars: Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Feb 2021

"Delicately-scented pinot noir with a charming fruity, floral lift. Moderately weighty on the palate with floral, red rose, dark cherry, plum and a suggestion of anise and spice. Bright acidity and peppery tannins add a little energy. Very good value at this price" Bob. Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Feb 2021

Attractively aromatic. Summer berry-fruits, citrusy, floral notes and a lightly spiced, herbal fragrance. Suggestive of the outdoors. Earth, mushroom notes evolve as the wine opens in the glass. The palate is vibrant and brightly red-fruited with a light spicy savouriness and supple structure of well-bound tannins. There is a depth in the exotic guava and quince which have a secondary, preserve-like richness. A refreshing plum-skin tanginess and chalky, minerality balances these ripper flavours.

Earthy nose, subtle oak, reminiscent of smoked meat, with light florals and vibrant red and blue fruits. Dark cherry and red berry flavors with savoury mineral/graphite-like notes. Fine, supple, well integrated tannin structure.

Framingham Pinot Noir leans towards a more savoury style displaying grace and charm with strong varietal character and structure to add interest.

C
Beautiful mix of top New Zealand wineries and their Pinot Noir's. It's nice to try a variety from all around New Zealand. Each wine is unique in their own way - bit hard to comment when they are all different.

Have not tried all yet but 2 were not up $30.00 for value compared to pinot noirs we have purchased. The Quartz reef lacked fruit and depth flavours Escartment was okay but not worth more than $20.00

So far Ive only had the Framingham PN, Thorburn PN and Rapaura Reserve PN. The wine from Nelson was great and beyond expectations with great bouquet and length. The higher priced Te Muna Road Craggy, Larry McKenna Escarpment & Rudy Bauer PN from Bendigo are perhaps a bit young & have been put away for another 2-3 years
